It is so nice to never run out of soda water without having to store a lot of bottles, just keep CO2 cartridges around. One problem is that the dispensing tube comes off inside the bottle if you shake it. I leave the CO2 cannister on the bottle overnight when I charge a batch. The cold water absorbers the CO2 better. It all seemed very straightforward, and I had no trouble -- it works well every time. I keep the bottle in the fridge with cold water in it and just fizz it up when I'm ready to drink some seltzer.

I didn’t realize that the soda only remains good for about two days so it’s more suited to groups or parties. Will probably just keep using small bottles of soda for evening cocktail. The water has an odd taste. Not sure if it’s from the CO2 chargers that’s imparting it, or something in the water bottle that needs to be washed off. I will try running the bottle through the dishwasher to see if that helps.- Was this review helpful? Yes (0) No (0)

Response from KegworksHi Kunal. You do not need to leave the CO2 canister once it is charged. You can remove it and replace it with the smaller cap. I would recommend this product.Quality4 / 5Value4 / 5This soda syphon with metal mesh replaced an almost identical one I had for years and which finally started to leak, so could not hold a charge. The new on arrived safely and undamaged and was exactly as I expected. It has a different holder for holding the gas cylinder as the syphon is charged. It takes a little longer to fully dissolve the gas into the water and requires a lot of shaking. Can anyone tell me how long the water stays fizzy?BEST ANSWER: I keep my Soda bottle in the refrigerator and the water has kept it's fizz for up to a month even when it is only a partial bottle. When the soda water is dispensed it keeps it's fizz as long as any soda water I have bought at the store. Note: Do not shake the bottle as the instructions say, the siphon tube comes off the top and that batch of soda water cannot be dispensed.- Reply

Can you put entire dispenser in the fridge for cold soda water? I'd like to have cold sida water. Thanks!BEST ANSWER: You are encouraged to put the unit in the fridge following the add of carbonation for 2 hours, so I can’t see why keeping it in there would hurt.- Reply

Can the bottle resist 2 cartridges??BEST ANSWER: It is very sturdy, but not designed for two cartridges. One cartridge is all you need for any soda. If you are not getting enough carbonation, start with cold water then use the CO2 cartridge and after the cartridge has emptied, remove the cartridge and shake the bottle. I never use two.- Reply(1)

I have some leftover 8 gram non-threaded co2 chargers from a different brand. How can I tell if they will be compatible with the siphon?BEST ANSWER: All the chargers of a given size/mass (like 8 gram) are the same size, regardless of mfg. There may be a difference in the *quality* of a given brand/lot though; I have found some lots/brands I've bought have a disgusting metallic taste.- Reply

I have one and love it, but my dog got to the siphon tube and charger cap and literally ate them. Can I purchase a replacement siphon tube and charging cap, or are there comparable replacements from other manufacturers?
